Stephane Wrembel, the Grammy-winning French jazz guitarist, continues to delve into the depths of his craft after decades of acclaim. Set to perform with his quartet at The Grape in Ventura on January 24, Wrembel reflects on the ongoing evolution of his art.

He emphasizes how the exploration and practice of an art form lead to a deeper connection with one’s soul, elevating skill and self-awareness. Specializing in the style of Django Reinhardt, Wrembel has released 17 albums and is celebrated for his mastery of “Gypsy jazz.”Immersing himself in Sinti culture, Wrembel embraces the essence of playing Sinti-style guitar, acknowledging that music is inseparable from cultural context. His musical journey began with classical piano at age 4 in France, transitioning to the guitar at 15, influenced by rock guitarists like Mark Knopfler and Jimmy Page.
After graduating from Berklee College of Music, Wrembel moved to New York City, gaining recognition in its music scene. He established the Django á GoGo® Music Festival, celebrating the Sinti guitar style, and earned a Grammy for his original compositions in the film “Midnight in Paris.”
